We're a long long way off a book yet. What I've currently got in mind to do is a detailed outline of what such a book should aim to cover, chapter by chapter.
Then I'd throw that to the wolves to let them seek out any errors or omissions before starting it properly.
I'd certainly like to attempt writing part of it at least, but I'd prefer other people to get involved too, for example, I could comment authoritatively on the Falcon demoscene and diskmags, but someone else might be much better qualified to make sense of the tangled internal politics of the cracking and menu crews ;-)
I agree that a lot of research, and interviews with primary witnesses would be needed, so this would be a long term project.
And unless a kind millionaire sponsors a project like this, I guess that the final result would appear as a .PDF or .HTML format.
