Middle mouse button/wheel
Posted by: Coda Jul,28.2007-10:55

Although Atari mice always came with two buttons, my docs state that the mouse packet related to buttons actually does have a bit for the middle mouse button state (even though it's probably physically/electrically impossible to hook a 3 button mouse to the mouse port). My released USB mouse driver doesn't pass this bit to the OS (the current version i'm working on does though) so I'm wondering if 1. There is provision in GEM to handle middle button events, and 2. Is there is any software out there that uses this button?

I know there are several serial mouse drivers that allow this mouse button to be programmed to do something useful.
